The Coleman Stove and the Coleman Lantern have been key gear items for every camping family for multiple generations. They are also a key ingredient in most families' emergency plan for reacting to storms and natural disasters.
The Coleman Grill-Stove combines a stove burner with a small grill grid. The grill cooks perfect steaks while the stove can heat a pan of veggies. This single piece of equipment will handle most cooking needs, and stores easily. A carry case is optionally available, and will help protect the outside of the stove.
At one point, this stove was marketed with an optional griddle, but this appears to be discontinued. Purchasing a third-party griddle is strongly suggested to make perfect pancakes for the camp breakfast.
The stove is powered by propane, which is the Xplore This! preferred fuel. Handling the 16 ounce cylinders is easier and safer than carry gasoline or liquid fuel.
Be sure to get the Grill-Stove which comes with electronic ignition. It is more convenient than the match-light version of the same stove. The cost for the electronic ignition version will be about $90.
Visit the manufacturer online at www.coleman.com. Coleman products can be purchased locally in Sporting Goods stores or departments.
PROs: A single piece of equipment handles most cooking needs.
CONs: Size - The grill-stove is not practical for cooking large family meals.
